Holly Darling

Hi, I’m Holly and I’m really excited to be bringing the fun and magic of Drama Tots to Chippenham, Malmesbury and Cirencester.

I have participated in drama since I was young, demanding that my Mum find me a Saturday morning drama club to join. From there I went on to study it for A Level, and then achieved a First Class degree in Film and Theatre Studies.

Teaching runs in my family so it was somewhat inevitable that I quickly found my way as a secondary school Drama teacher. I taught for sixteen years, working my way up to become a Head of Department in both state and independent schools. I have absolutely loved this job and it has been such a huge part of my identity. Through teaching I have had the absolute pleasure of directing school shows, running theatre trips and teaching sone incredibly talented and dedicated students. I have also experienced the absolute power of drama to build confidence, resilience and creative collaboration and to make young people feel like they belong.

Since having my two feisty girls, life has changed considerably and the need to be able to work more flexibly has become essential. I came across Drama Tots and, following further research, it became apparent that in joining Drama Tots I would be joining a network of fantastic, creative and ambitious women. I quickly took the trip to Coventry to watch Franchisor Leanne teach a class. I was immediately hooked by her energy, skill and complete attention to detail. The smiles on the children’s faces and their level of engagement said it all.

I have sat through a huge number of toddler and pre-school classes over the years but none as impressive as this.

I can’t wait to start taking children on our fabulous Drama Tots adventures. I love the catchy and original music as well as the props and activities on offer and I know you will too!
